I'm back from Shanghai, Xian, and Suzhou. Shanghai's post will be up in a day or two, as I still need to edit it.

This post covers the entire trip of Xian, whose city name means "western peace". It is a city inhabited for over six thousand years as a permanent settlement, starting with Banpo, then moving to the early dynasties as their capital for over 1,000 years.

Wow, do I have a lot to say, and I'm going to cover the entire weekend in one post. Sorry, but this may be long. I finally got the internet running! Unfortunately, it is impossible to upload anything on this internet system. This journal has been edited with photos! Keep checking back as I add more!
